Utopia Music Festival 2013

Utopia HeaderWe’re sure you’ve heard all about the Utopia Music Festival coming up next weekend. But if you haven’t here are the details.

Taking place over Freedom Day weekend (26-28 April 2013), Utopia Music Festival will be held at Nekkies – one of South Africa’s favourite venues (allegedly). This all star packed event will not disappoint, with the likes of Desmond & the Tutus, Karen Zoid, Fokofpolisiekar, aKing, The Plastics on The Phoenix- Main Stage.

Dean Fuel, Candice Heyns, Chris Jack and Killer Robot will be some of the acts taking over The Oasis-Electronic Stage.

You’ll also get a taste of comedy from some funny guys like, Martin Evans, Schalk Bezuidenhout and Christopher Steenkamp to name but a few…

The Phoenix (Main Stage)
This stage is an astonishing one-of-a-kind structure, situated at the heart of the festival grounds and will be running throughout the weekend. It promises to be like nothing you’ve ever seen before – a sight to boggle the minds.

Only meters from the riverside, the Oasis Electronic Stage, with a stomping ground of soft sand and the best Deep House and Techno, is geared to have you dancing from morning till, well, the next morning.

The Rustum August ‘Eat Life’ (Comedy Stage)
Once upon a time there was a cool guy with really short jokes and a great attitude. “Eat Life,” he said – and so we shall. The Rustum August ‘Eat Life’ tribute stage will featuring Cape Town’s top cutting-edge comedians. This stage will run throughout the day with regular shows, a tweet-activated billboard (#eatlife) and an opportunity for everyone to join in the fun.

Go ‘Bos’ Stage
Nestled in the camping area and playing host to some awesome up-and-coming musicians, The Go ‘Bos’ stage will also live festivalgoers the chance to show people what they are made of. Take along an instrument, your band, or even create a band right there and then. All you have to do is book a slot and the stage is yours!

Early Bird: Sold Out
Full Weekend: R380
Saturday & Sunday: R320
Sunday: R70
There will be limited amounts of tickets available for purchase at the door: R400
