Cape Town Bacon Fest

Cape_Town_Bacon_FestFor those who love it diced, sliced, fried, grilled or even popped, La Bottega Restaurant – Buchanan Square Woodstock, brings Bacon Fest this July!

Teamed with Totalgaz they bring the Baconfest Cape Town which is being held on Saturday the 25th July 2015 at La Bottega Restaurant, Buchanan square 160 Sir Lowry Rd, Cape Town.
The event is divided into two sittings, afternoon and evening, where you can “pig” out to your hearts content, on all dishes presented including 2 x 500ml Brannas Draughts for the price of R250 a ticket from Webtickets.

On the main menu are the following bacon inspired dishes:

Pork and bacon slider, Pork and Bacon Frikkadels, Mini pork and bacon pizza, Mealies wrapped in bacon on a stick, Candied bacon,Pork chops wrapped in bacon with an apple bacon sauce, Potato salad with bacon, Pigs in a bacon blanket, Bacon Popcorn and crackling. There are only 300 limited tickets available, 150 tickets for the Afternoon session (12:00 – 17:00) and 150 tickets for the Evening session (17:00 – 22:00).

    I know people love bacon, but please try to think about the industry behind it. The majority of pigs are raised in intensive factory farms under incredibly cruel conditions. Even the pig industry admits this and has agreed to phase out sow stalls at some stage. There is a lot more information on this website
